Fortunately, the implantation of a hip prosthesis is a procedure that causes a degree of recovery of function and absence of pain in virtually all cases. This is not the case with other types of treatment.

The surgical technique for the implantation of a hip prosthesis has also evolved to adapt to the level of demand of today’s society. We are the unique centre in Spain that offers the possibility of implanting a resurfacing hip replacement through the anterior approach, preserving the natural anatomy of the hip, reducing the risk of complications due to instability, and allowing for a faster recovery to return to activity without limitations, even for professional athletes.

Resurfacing is an advanced surgical procedure that involves replacing damaged articular cartilage without the need to cut the femoral head or modify the femoral canal. Unlike traditional replacements, this technique maintains the patient’s original bone structure, offering more natural functionality and stability.

At Hip Institute, we have taken resurfacing a step further by implementing it through the anterior approach, a minimally invasive technique that preserves tissues, reduces postoperative pain, and facilitates a faster recovery.

Hip resurfacing is ideal for patients with high levels of physical activity who seek a durable and functional solution without compromising their performance.

Resurfacing is not indicated for all patients.
